Process:

Removal of Existing Surface & Ground Preparation: We began by removing the old concrete surface and embedded brick detailing, which had become weathered and uneven. All materials were carefully broken up and cleared from the site to make way for a fresh installation. Once cleared, we excavated the entire driveway area to the required depth, creating space for a new foundational structure. This preparation phase is critical to ensure durability and long-term performance. 

Sub-Base Construction & Drainage Installation: With the site excavated, we installed a high-quality Type 1 MOT hardcore sub-base across the full area. This layer was compacted in multiple passes to provide maximum stability and prevent future sinking or movement. We also ensured the base was laid to the correct falls, directing water runoff efficiently toward a new linear drainage channel at the entrance, preventing surface water buildup and protecting the property. 

Edge Restraints, Patterned Block Paving & Finishing Touches: We installed strong charcoal block edging to define the shape of the driveway and reinforce its borders. The main driveway area was then laid using light-coloured blocks in a precise 45-degree herringbone pattern, giving it a clean and modern finish. To personalise the space, we incorporated a central diamond pattern using dark grey blocks, a striking feature that adds character. Once all the blocks were laid, kiln-dried sand was swept into the joints and compacted to lock everything in place, ensuring a tight, stable surface ready for immediate use.
