Process:
Site Preparation & Groundwork: The first task was to clear the unused area of weeds, loose grave, and old, broken edging kerbs. We excavated the ground to the necessary depth to create a solid base that would sit perfectly level with the existing driveway.
Building the Foundations: With the ground prepared, we laid the new MOT Type 1 hardcore sub-base. This was then thoroughly machine compacted to create a robust and durable foundation, essential for preventing any sinking or movement in the future.
Laying the Block Paving: We sourced block pavers to match the existing driveway’s colour and style. The new blocks were laid in the same classic herringbone pattern, flowing seamlessly from the original surface. A smart charcoal border was used to define the new edges and to create a new, attractive circular frame around the base of the feature tree.
Final Finishing: To complete the job, kiln-dried sand was brushed thoroughly into the joints of the new paving to lock all the blocks tightly in place. The entire area was then given a final compaction to ensure a solid, level finish, leaving the customer with a driveway that looks like it was all laid at the same time.
