Process:

Site Excavation and Sub-Base Installation: The existing garden was cleared and excavated to the required depth this was done to ensure stability for the new patio. Any debris and loose soil was removed to create a firm foundation. Next a high-quality MOT Type 1 sub-base was laid and compacted in layers to provide a solid and stable surface, proper compaction was ensured using a vibration plate to prevent any future movement. The patio was checked for correct levels and gradients to make sure water drains efficiently away from the property.

Laying the Indian Sandstone Paving: Premium Indian Sandstone slabs, chosen for their durability and natural aesthetic. The slabs were laid in a random pattern, adding a unique and organic feel to the patio, and on a strong mortar bed, guaranteeing long-term adhesion and stability . Joints were carefully pointed with a weather-resistant jointing compound for a seamless finish.

Wall and Step Construction: Solid brick retaining walls were built to define the space and create raised planting areas. High-quality red bricks were chosen to match the property’s aesthetic and blue engineering bricks were incorporated as a decorative feature and added strength. The walls were designed to act as both functional garden borders and aesthetic features. Wide steps were chosen and constructed leading to the upper garden level for easy access. Matching bricks were used for the risers and sandstone treads for a durable, non-slip surface. It was ensured that the steps were uniform in height and depth for safety and ease of use.

Finishing Touches: All work was inspected to ensure a flawless finish, checking for level alignment and joint consistency. The newly installed patio was cleaned and the client’s were provided with care and maintenance tips to keep their patio looking pristine.
